I am researching the Haags-Guthnecks connection and I have arrived at Jasper County, Illinois. My gg-grandfather, Michael Haag , married Julian Guthneck on May 12, 1841, in Jasper County ,Illinois. His son, Lewis, married Elizabeth Shirley on August 17, 1868 in Jasper County. I believe they were married at All Saints Church. Marie Guthneck married Louis Deshler on March 28, 1842 in Jasper County. I'm hoping Julian & Marie were daughters of Charles Guthneck who is shown as one of the original settlers of Newton (?) around 1835. Any help would be appreciated.

Frustrated with trying to find anyon ewho knows who John T. Land's parents were and where from. An old bible that I acquired shows he was born in 1832 in KY, died 1827 . His wife, Nancy Ellis, was born 1835 in IN and died in 1923. I think his father was William, b. 1807, but the bible does not confirm this.They had several children I think---one was Jennie who m. Cummins. My Land and Ellis families were in White CO., IL beginning in year 1809 and many descendants still in that area. Can anyone help. I have had several responses about the daughter Jennie and her family---but what I really want is to go backwards in time. Or if anyone knows of a living descendant that might be able to help I'd appreciate that.

My father Frank Raymond Armstriong was born in
St. Marie in 1889. His father, Frank Cyrus was born in 1870
somewhere in that area, maybe Olney. He was married to Mary
Frauli. I have been unable to find any Armstrongs.
His uncle James Cyrus Armstrong used St. Marie as his home
also when enlisting inCivil War times.
Any help appreciated.

question is why can't I not find my
ancestors from Saint Marie Illinois on any of the census birth or
death
records. My grandmother Rosa (Bogard) Hentgen born October 21st
1890 died
November 12th 1920. My grandfather Eugene Hentgen died July 12,
1923. My
great grandparents Julius Boagrd born 1868 died 1903. His wife

Bogard died 1900, and my great great great grandparents Peter
Yager dies
September 26 1904 and Catherine (Lobmier) Yager died September
19, 1904. All

I am looking for the Birth Place
(Town or Township) of our grandmother, Barbara Ellen Osterdock,
born in Jasper Co.,July 13,1867. She married William Caldwell
Dollins, in Louisville, IL, Clay Co., Oct. 17.1886. Also, her
Mother, Mary Ellen (Smedley)Osterdock...last location Clay or
Jasper Co. Census, 1880. Barbara
Ellen was listed also, as child living with her. Another child,
Charles Osterdock would have been 6 yr.s old, but was not listed
with her, and did not die until 1925, (b. 1874) We have him
living with a Dr.West...from family members, Dr. West was located
living in Pixley Township, on the 1870 Census. Mary Ellen's last
P.O. address was Effingham, when she was applying for her
husbands Pension. (Anthony Osterdock: died June 4,1864, Civil
War). Their oldest son was George Washington Osterdock, Bible
Grove
IL. This is quite a mystery, as we have Mary Ellen's death in
1880, but copy of death notice for Pension from Chicago says
June/July 1901. Any information will truly be appreciated.

Jasper County Page. My 3rd great-grandfather Hedgman Riley moved
to Jasper County around 1850 from Page County Virginia. I know
that he is buried in Slate Point Cemetery, along with his wife
Louisa Caroline Kibler and one son William Franklin Riley. I am
looking for information on them and other Riley's who might have

and I am very impressed!! Unfortunately for me, I haven't had any
hits on my Butler's. I am hopeful though. It would be great if
ILL. had birth certificate info on line for our ancestors in the
mid 1800's. Boundries change, so my G, G, Grandfather was born 50
miles South of the City of Chicago, suppossibly, in Jasper , ILL.
However, no one seems to know where that is now. It was in 1849.

They had a son Benjamin who was born in Jasper Co who died as you young lad. Robert Reed family was there through 1920's and later left. Robert died in 1899 in Wheeler, Ill. Allen Reed d 1864 during the Civil War and Annaretta d in 1868 in Wheeler, Ill. Annaretta died in Wheeler, Ill in 1880's and David went to Ia, William to Ks and Simon went to Neb. I really don't understand things unless there is nothing on the Reed family in Jasper Co, they were there from 1850's to 1920's. The names are Allen and Annaretta Reed and they had several children David, Robert, Annaretta who married James Powell, William Allen Reed, Simon Peter Reed, and Jesse others were there but died early. Allen and a son Jesse died during the Civil War Annaretta wife of Allen died in 1868 and son David left in the 1880's who married Dorcas Jane Howard who was daughter of Jane Waddle Howard Kruzan who was the wife of Benjamin Alfred Kruzan Sr who died in 1860. Simon and William Allen left early also. Robert Reed died there in 1899 in Wheeler, Ill.

Parents: Benjamin Fear married Anna E. Ping September 17, 1869 in Crawford Co. Illinois. Anna E. Ping, born Abt. 1852 in Jasper Co. Illinois. She was the daughter of Silas Ping and Amanda Todd.
Siblings:
Siblings of Volena Fear are believed to include brothers Sina R. Fear and Tony C. Fear, born Abt. 1892 in near Willow Hill; died February 15, 1970 in Salem, Illinois; married Zola Goostree October 1917; died 1968.

Looking for FOSTER, SMITH, SNODGRASS that were in Illinois between 1850 and 1869. They were in the Jasper, Clay, and Richland area. Joel SMITH married unknown SNODGRASS about 1860. Daughter Mary Elizabeth born Aug 10, 1862. Mrs. Smith died in childbirgh and Joel remarried Sarah E. Smith, daughter of James T. Smith. At least one other child was born to the family while in Illinois. William born 1867 in Illinois. Joel was a butcher according to the 1870 Kansas census. James T. Smith was a preacher, probably of the United Brethren Faith. Another daughter of James besides Sarah was married in Illinois. Her name was Catherine Smith and she married E. H. LONG, Md. They lived in Clay Co after the marriage but there is no marriage record in Clay or Richland Counties. I need any or all information anyone might have on these families.

I am researching my great-grandparents Samuel and Nancy (ROYSTER) OLDEN. They are listed on the 1880 Jasper Co, Fox Township, IL census. Samuel is a farmer, 54 years old and Nancy J. is 22 years old. They have four of Samuel's children from his first marriage living with them: Thomas, age 18, Margaret, age 16, Diana, age 13, and William F., age 10. Samuel and Nancy have 5 children of their own, including my grandfather, Andrew OLDEN, born in 1890. Nancy is then listed on the 1900 census married to a John JOHNSON, in Crawford Co, Oblong Twp. Janie OLDEN is listed as his step-daughter. They have been married 5 years. I can't find out what happened to Samuel? Anone connect?

My father was William LOVING, born Jasper Co in 1886. He later moved to Columbus, OH. His father, A. R. LOVING, was born in Willow Hill, IL, but then moved to Greenup where he owned a retail business and was a minister. His father was Reuben LOVING, Jr., baorn 1837, probably in KY, but moved to Jasper Co (listed in 1850 census). Have been unable to trace family back any further. There is a Reuben LOVING born 1802, probably in KY, but moved to Monroe Co, IN and prior to 1840 moved to IL, possibly McLean Co, IL. Cannot find any record. He may be the father of Reuben LOVING, Jr.

Was this her sister's family? Who was Zedock MARKLAND? Was he related? His second marriage was to Sarah Mann TEVIS.
